Anyone who has been a Giants fan for any length of time should know the unofficial motto around New York is "expect the unexpected." Who expected the Giants to draft Mathias Kiwanuka last year? Who expected the Giants to re-sign Tom Coughlin? And who in their right mind expected the Giants to sign Anthony Wright?
Crazy things happen within the Giants organization and this year may be no different. With needs at linebacker, cornerback, tackle and even at running back, the Giants may be considering a wide receiver with their first round (20th overall) draft pick.
Ralph Vacchiano of the MSG Network makes it clear that although it's not a sure thing, the writing appears to be on the wall. With Amani Toomer coming back from injury, Tim Carter now in Cleveland and no depth behind Sinorice Moss, the Giants are in desperate need of another receiver. The possibility of Dwayne Jarrett, a top-10 talent who had a bad 40-yard dash, falling to the Giants is very good and may be too much to pass up.
Will they actually draft a wide receiver in round one? Well, that remains to be seen but with each passing day it seems more and more likely.
