NFL Draft's Biggest Question: Where Will Dwayne Jarrett Go?
Where will USC wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett end up? I've seen mock drafts that list him as a Top 10 pick, and I've seen mock drafts that don't even include him in the first round.
More than any other player in this year's draft, I think Dwayne Jarrett needs to run a good 40. Watching him at USC, I always thought he was lacking in great speed, but that he had great hands and ran great routes. Of course, the last time an A-list receiver coming out of USC was described in those terms, his name was Mike Williams. He's turned into a major bust.
But if Dwayne Jarrett surprises scouts with a fast time, he's going to erase any comparisons to Williams and establish himself as the clear No. 2 receiver in the draft, behind only Georgia Tech's Calvin Johnson. USC guys generally skip the combine workouts and wait until their pro day, and Dwayne Jarrett will likely do the same. Right now he's probably a mid-to-late first rounder, but keep an eye on that pro day, which will define his draft slot.
